AROSA - LENZERHEIDE
Switzerland
THE RESORT
AROSA
Located in the same region as Davos and Klosters, the traditional resort of Arosa is located at the end of the romantic Schanfigg Valley at a high altitude of about 1800m. With its impressive range of mountain peaks all around, Arosa Lenzerheide offers a great variety of snow sport activities as well as the ambience of a alpine village.
An ideal family resort with lots of activities to keep kids amused.
LENZERHEIDE
Recently linked to neighbouring Arosa by a big cable car, Lenzerheide is now part of the second largest ski area solely in Switzerland, covering 225km of pistes in the Graubünden region.
There are two main bases in the valley, Lenzerheide itself and Valbella on the other side of the Heidsee Lake, but chalets and small, family run hotels are dotted throughout the valley. To the west lies the main area of local slopes, a network of blues and reds linked by fast lifts, and to the east lies steeper slopes - including the World Cup Downhill run - and crucially the link up and over to Arosa. All of the major lifts in the valley are linked by a regular, free bus service which makes getting around easy.
THE SKIING
The snow-safe Arosa Lenzerheide ski area offers 225 km groomed slopes on up to 2865m. Arosa and Lenzerheide are connected by the spectacular Urden aerial railway, which floats above the Urdental and takes skiers from the Arosa Hörnli to the Urdenfürggli in Lenzerheide or back within 5 minutes. More than 40 cosy mountain restaurants and huts spoil you with a large choice of delicacies and sun terraces with spectacular views.
