Engelberg is a little alpine village nestled in a valley towered over by the 3000m Titlis Peak with it's long season glacier skiing.
The resort offers a good selection of restaurants and bars with some apres-ski action available. The transfers from Zurich airport is approx. 2hrs by train or car and it is a good choice for a ski weekend. The village is dominated by the historic Benedictine monastery so there is a mixed vibe of history and snowboarders around town!
The Titlis Area
The ski area offers 82km of pistes along with a large amount of off-piste including the Big 5 free ride runs for which the ski area drwas a lot of free riders and skiers. With one of the longest vertical descents in the Alps - 2000m of altitude from the glacier down to the village make skiing and snowboarding fun. Most of the pistes are guaranteed snow from December to April. On top of the glacier you can even ski from October to May. On the lower slopes around the Trübsee, Gerschnialp and Untertrübsee there are numerous easy downhill runs.
The valley descent is one of the longest ever: 12 km dropping over 2000m in altitude and is the perfect end to every day on the slopes.
The sunny side of Engelberg - On the Brunni, the sunniest pistes in central Switzerland invite you to enjoy skiing and snowboarding. A total of 7 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes are available. A secret tip is the black Schonegg slope with the most beautiful view of the mountains around Engelberg.
There are two family-friendly ski lifts on the Bannalp for leisurely skiing and snowboarding. Six blue and one red slope offer snow fun for all ages.
