LAAX - FLIMS
Laax is a mecca for freestyle enthusiasts with 4 terrain parks a s well as being a good choice for a long weekend with its short transfer from Zurich airport.
Flims is the largest of the 3 ski villages and is split into two distinct areas of Dorf and Waldhaus which are separated by the deep gorge. Waldhaus is the quieter of the two and where the main collection of hotels is found; Dorf is where the main lifts and the apres ski scene can be found.
You can either get the train to Chur and transfer to the local bus service which takes approx. 30 min or on Thu, Sat, Sun there is a direct shuttle coach from Zurich airport to the resort and v.v.

As the sun slowly rises in Flims Laax Falera, it's not long until the perfect skiing or snowboarding day begins. After a short trip by cable car, you can hit the wide, blue, red or black slopes, or go to the snow park. The resorts have 224 kilometres of slopes, 4 snow parks and 28 ski lifts, 70% of those are situated at an altitude of between 2,000 and 3,000 metres, which makes Flims Laax Falera one of the most reliable winter sports regions in the world to find snow.
Is this your first skiing or snowboarding trip? In Flims Laax Falera, you don't have to settle for low ground. Starting off at a height of 2,570 metres on the Vorab Glacier, you can make your first moves on the blue slopes at your own leisure. And around the Alp Dado, you will also find many gentle slopes which ensure a wonderful and relaxing day for all the family.
The sunny slopes in Nagens and Mutta Rodunda are perfect for more athletic skiers and snowboarders. If you want to put your stamina to the test, then don't miss the unique descent from La Siala down to Flims. You will complete a total distance of around 13 kilometres with a descent of 1,700 metres in altitude.
The ski region of Flims Laax Falera is expansive and includes pistes of all grades of difficulty. The highest point in the ski region - the Vorab glacier - reaches a height of 3018 m. In addition to Alpine skiing, snowboarding and carving, guests with a passion for sports can enjoy cross-country skiing, curling, winter hiking and paragliding.
Thanks to the professional Snowboard Freestyle Academy, a host of different snowboarding events, special freeride areas reserved for snowboarders, the halfpipe and the fun park around the regional Crap Sogn Gion mountain, this holiday destination has become the Mecca for snowboarders. The countless après-ski activities, parties, bars, concerts and innovative hotels serve to attract many younger guests to the region around Laax.
