Niseko SKI RESORT
Niseko, located on the western coast of the island of Hokkaido, is widely known as having one of the most consistent and biggest snowfalls in Japan. The ski resort is quickly becoming world renown boasting some of the best and most reliable powder conditions to be found. Niseko is the largest of Hokkaido ski areas with 4 interlinked first-class resorts, Annupuri, Hirafu, Hanazono and Higashiyama. These 4 adjoining resorts make up Niseko and offer spectacular skiing and snowboarding opportunities to the novice, intermediate or expert, and offer the powder hound with unparalleled, pristine powder experiences 7 days a week. Niseko has one of the largest night skiing areas in Japan with the lifts open daily from 8.30am to 9.00pm.
There are plenty of alpine alternatives to be enjoyed including cross country skiing, snowmobiling, snow rafting, ice climbing, snowshoeing and relaxing in the natural hot springs.
Niseko offers some great ski-in ski-out accommodation and a wide variety of self-contained apartments, private houses, western hotels and pensions catering to all budgets. Paired with world class après ski and dining, excellent shopping and services, the Niseko is the perfect ski holiday destination for any group of family members or friends.
Niseko has a wealth of chic and modern ski chalets and hotels many ski in ski out, and a whole lot more within 5 minutes’ walk of the slopes. With self-accommodating properties to cater for all group sizes, from studio apartments to 6 bedroom chalets, you are bound to find the perfect place for your group. Niseko’s main accommodation area is Grand Hirafu, but there are a number of other wonderful neighbourhoods to stay in.
Upper Village Grand Hirafu
With great access to the slopes and a number of good value properties, as well as brand new world class apartments, and with many restaurants in easy reach, the upper village is a fantastic area to stay.
Middle Village Grand Hirafu
Find a fantastic range of hotels, stand-alone properties, and apartment blocks with convenient access to slopes, shuttle bus stops, and après ski.
Lower Village Grand Hirafu
Streets lined with large luxury properties, a few fantastic hidden away restaurants, and the Yukoro Onsen perfect for a post ski soak.
Izumikyo
A number of private chalets, and pensions and lodges, a selection of restaurants, and walking distance to Grand Hirafu for après ski, the Izumikyo is a wonderful option for a peaceful stay in Niseko.
Niseko Village
Known for the Hilton Hotel, and The Greenleaf, the Niseko village has its own shopping street of high quality ski wear, fashion, restaurants and a gorgeous local glassware store. You will also find a number of pensions and lodges.
Niseko An’nupuri
The secluded and chic Northern Resort An’nupuri Hotel, and a couple of other cheap pensions are located in this area. Enjoy the ski in ski out hotel, and come back for a calming and peaceful soak in the onsen in the afternoons.
Most guests will arrive at Sapporo Chitose Airport and transfer by road to Niseko, either in a shuttle bus or private chartered transfer. Some may like to travel by rail to Niseko, with the Niseko and Kutchan train stations offering the most convenient access. Niseko is connected by shuttle bus to and from New Chitose Airport, travel time is under three hours including one comfort stop along the way. A convenient and simple way to travel, the shuttle buses stop at most major hotels in Niseko.
